Not sure if this was posted in another forum but since it's a field herping magazine I thought I'd put this here.

Grab a copy of the first issue, it's good reading. The Introductory editorial almost made me cry.... not even my mom understands me like that....
Plus I feel we have a bunch of herpers here who should contribute articles/ photos to the magazine.

I just subscribed tonight. It sounds good. "Reptiles" is just to glam for me. I just ended my subscription and don't plan on renewing. Herp nation appears pricey, but like "Vivarium" and others I think it will be less comercialized......at least at first.

Yeah I'm about to move so I didn't subscribe. There are several good articles about SO-Cal stuff in the first issue. I think having Jeremaiah Easter on the staff is sure to push the Socal emphasis.
I know that most herp enthusiasts are snake people, something about snakes attracts peoples interest more than other herps for some reason but I have to say the first issue was a bit snake heavy. Don't get me wrong, snakes are the best but, I mean, it's Herp-nation not Snake-nation.

I am pretty sure Jeremiah is up in Washington or Oregon. He is one of the best boa guys though. Rosy boas are the trendy snake now. He also does posters and Diamondback trading cards.

So, I don't think he just gets the SoCal guys. I will buy his book and already have one of his posters.

yes he lives in washington now... but he is a Californian at heart.... and his boa article was very good... though he is preaching to the quire as far as his stance on collecting and road casualties... it would be nice if that message was seen by a wider audience than just people who already collect snakes.

I almost worked with him on his line of Dinosaur trading cards for Diamondback but he couldn't really pay me for the work so it didn't work out.

The school teacher in me must correct you, the word is choir not quire. It's one of the stupid French influenced words that causes high school English teachers to question each generation. Please don't take it as an insult. Today was my last day teaching summer school (what a giant pain in the butt).
