Location: Folsom CA | I finally had enough money to take a trip up to my Sierra Garter spot this weekend... took my little brother too. Here's what we found...
Sierra Gartersnake (Thamnophis couchii)
First thing we found was about an hour into our hike... I had my brother Mike check this rock crevice on the side of a gorge we were climing across... "Oh poo! ...rattlesnake Richie!" (I added some pics of this snake to the "Northern Pacific Rattlesnake" album)
Then I was getting tired of walking through this slippery mossy creek that we had been searching for a couple hours or so... told my bro I was going to walk a side him on land. I wasn't out of the water for more than 30 seconds and... "Snake!" lol Mike kept an eye on him until I was able to get back over there for the catch... Nice Teamwork Brother!!
