We got up Sunday morning and we all went to the little reservoir to find some garters. Mike jumped a beautiful adult mountain garter.

on the hike back to camp, Ricky got a lifer Rubber boa. His incredible herping skills prevented him from stepping on it!

We stopped at alittle store on the stanislaus river and Chad says he's gonna book it down to the river to look for a sierra garter, so I went with him. Well 10 minutes later, he leans over the bridge and informs me that he got one! Sweet! ... A nice looking adult

We went back to camp and B.S.ed for a while. we took pics and vid. Ricky and Tracy packed and split. Chad stayed with us for some more Z and B searching.

We called it a trip (we thought) and packed up and split. the timing started to look good for a bay area road cruise on the way home. We stopped at Chads to see his collection and kill some time. He's got some cool stuff!
Me, Mike and Edgar said goodbye to Chad and started to cruise. we ended up finding a super gravid gophersnake, and two Cal kings. One juvie, one adult. I didn't take any stills of them, but I got video of everything.
Hopefully Chad and Ricky will get their photo's up soon, then you'll get some real nice pics to look at!
It'll take me a couple days to make a vid, but it should be good....
All in all it was a very successful trip. No Zs, but whatcha gonna do?
mikemike will be getting a species list up soon. He's got it all in his head, and I used those brain cells up in the 80's.
It was great meeting everybody and I had a blast. Can't wait to do it again!

Awesome!! I love rubber boas. They have to be the most phallic animal in the animal kingdom.

Awesome, thanks for the update. I am on the next one fo sho. I have never found a Rubber Boa, beautiful specimen. Great stuff guys, I am definitely jealous.

I found a beautiful DOR Cal King this weekend (so bummed). I did found a stunning oreganus this afternoon but, other than that, kind slow. I made two successful releases yesterday... ha ha.

Somebody plan another one, I gotta get in on this.

I think it is safe to say that the first CRIS trip was a great success! I had a blast, and it was great to hang out with all these great people all weekend.
It was an intense weekend of herping at all available times.

Sure beats hanging around camp reading a book!

I had an amazing time. Thank you to everyone that came. We'll have to do another one.

Thanks guys!
